Next Steps

  • Create a schedule of family engagement opportunities that include multiple opportunities for attendance. For family engagement activities, consider the barriers families face for attendance (i.e. childcare) and leverage student leadership to support. Increase social media promotion of family-oriented events.
  • Provide scheduled time for administrators and teachers to make positive phone calls, emails, or text messages home. Increase education and promotion of our peer mediation and restorative justice programs.
  • At the beginning of the year, clearly communicate discipline matrix with explicit and written connection to code of conduct. Calibrate between administrators on discipline scenarios and identify communication channels between administration and staff for discipline.
