Harrison High School is proud to be an IB Career-related Programme (CP) Candidate School, pursuing authorization to offer this innovative and flexible programme. The CP combines the academic strength of IB courses with hands-on, career-related learning, preparing students for success in both university and the workplace.
🔍 What is the IB Career-related Programme?
The CP is designed for students who want to specialize in a career pathway while still benefiting from IB’s internationally recognized academic rigor. It blends IB Diploma Programme (DP) courses with a Career-related Study (CRS), and three unique CP Core components.
At Harrison, CP students choose from specialized pathways such as:

🧠 CP Core Components
In addition to their career pathway and IB courses, CP students complete the CP Core:

Personal and Professional Skills (PPS)
Builds transferable skills like ethical decision-making, intercultural understanding, communication, and resilience. -
Community Engagement
Applies skills to meaningful community projects and partnerships connected to the student’s pathway. -
Language & Cultural Studies
Expands students’ ability to communicate in an additional language and understand the associated cultures. -
Reflective Project
An in-depth research project on an ethical dilemma related to the student’s career field.
🧭 How the CP Works
A CP student’s programme includes:

At least two IB Diploma Programme courses (can be at SL or HL)

One career-related study (CRS) course or pathway

The CP Core (PPS, Community Engagement, Language & Cultural Studies, Reflective Project)

📣 Our Candidate School Status
As an IB Candidate School for the Career-related Programme, we are currently in the process of meeting all IB requirements for authorization. This means:

Students will have access to elements of the CP structure and philosophy now

Full CP diploma granting is expected after authorization is complete

Our teachers are receiving specialized IB training to ensure the programme launches successfully
